VOLKS KNEELING BODIES POSING COMPARISON

Some Notes: The SDCute body can also do this pose, but I do not have one to photograph. The Yo-SD and SD10 kneeling bodies are identical in kneeling joint design except for a difference in the kneecap/knee joint (probably because the Yo-SD is so small). Both have a "J" shaped upper thigh stringing slot, and the same (but less pronounced) on the back of the knee. The SD16 body can do the same pose, but is designed completely differently. The SD16 thigh joint is the same as on a standard body, but the thigh piece is in two parts; the lower part rotates and locks. The knee design is double-jointed so it does not require the "J" shape slot either. Because of the thigh design, the SD16 can also rotate his legs inward, to cross his legs or sit Indian style. Notice also that the double knee joint allows the SD16 to get a much sharper angle, like a human can (though sitting this way is supposed to be bad for you!).

In the first picture, I have only rotated the thigh joint on the SD16, NOT bent the knee like a double joint. This is so you can see that a normal knee, without a slight "J" cutout, will sit at 90 degrees to the body. (So if you are thinking of altering your doll to do this pose, remember that the back of the knee also needs to be altered; just the thigh will only get an "L" shaped pose.) Sorry for not getting a photo of the back of the knees. >_o;
